Task – Cyberbullying

Grade – 7

Time – 45 minutes

Class profile   (a brief description of the class) a class of 8 students, Most of the students are visual, kinaesthetic and audio learners.   They need to improve  speaking and  listening  skills.

Aims for the lesson (language/skills/other aims) By the end of the lesson the students will                suggest ways young people can behave ​ positively in cyberspace.               consider what motivates young people to participate in online cruelty.              recognise that cyberbullying can have serious consequences              To identify cyberbullying and it’s consequences Materials: ·         Laptop/LCD projector or overhead projector, screen, Internet access ·         sheets of newsprint ·         http://www.digizen.org/resources/cyberbullying/films/uk/lfit-film.aspx Stage and time Aim Procedure Interaction 1. Ice-Breaker. 10 min Give brief introduction to this section T  ask question to whole class What is cyberbullying ? Do they know  any example of cyberbulling? T monitors and checks T-Ss Ss-T 2.Pre-listening 3 min. To  focus on  the content of the video T ​ explains and gives one example of an online ​danger or cyberbullying, and the consequences of this. T-Ss 3.  Pair work 7 min.   To check what  main usues they remember Ask  Ss  to work in pairs and write down on their sheet of paper all negative uses T-Ss S-S Ss-T 4.Speak pair work 7min To find some details in video Ask Ss to watch video again … and talk about  specific information T-Ss S-S Ss-T 5.Group work 10 min they ​consider to be ‘online dangers’ and the consequences of these T encourage Ss speak about online dangers… One Ss  from each group make presenation T-Ss S-S Ss-T Feedback and Home work 8 min. Reconvene the class and have each group share its work T-Ss S-S
